Traditional, Contemporary or Photojournalistic style and other important information

Bet and I photograph a wedding informally and in a relaxed style. We capture as many key moments of the day as possible trying to limit posing to a minimum. While our main attention will be on the bride and groom, 2 photographers working at your wedding allows us to record many images of family members and guests that are not possible with a single photographer.

There a several styles of photography when it comes to how your wedding images will look: Traditional, Contemporary and Photo-Journalistic.

Traditional is what most people are used to seeing when it comes to wedding albums. Images that are posed with clean lines of composition. Staged poses for the formals and key events.

Contemporary is a more modern look at the images. I consider it to be mix of the traditional style, but not as unique as Photo-Journalistic, a mix of the old and the new.

Photojournalistic is a style in which the images are capture in a moment by moment fashion, everything is unscripted, and nothing is posed. The photographer stays in the background as much as possible.

At this point you may be wondering, “What style do you shoot?” We do not classify ourselves' in one particular style, but a combination of the 3 mentioned with a bias towards Contemporary verging on Photo-Journalistic while still utilizing the Traditional style where appropriate.

A few people may feel uncomfortable with the thought of being photographed. We work in a candid and non-invasive fashion, but still getting close enough to capture the intimacy of the moment. Instead of presenting you with a series of posed images, we do our best to record for you the natural emotions of you, your family, and your guests on your wedding day.

We use professional Canon Digital SLR cameras, using low light lenses which allow us to work with natural light where possible. Digital allows for greater working latitude, creative enhancement and color conversion in post-production.

Post-production is just as important as our work on the day of your wedding. All of our Wedding Day options include time needed processing your images to give you the best possible memories of your day.
